2017 Reflections art competition: Within Reach

Deadline: Thursday, Nov 9

CALLING ALL BRYANT STUDENTS! Please submit one or more entries to Reflections! Kids can create a collage, write a story or poem, paint or draw a picture, choreograph a dance, take a photograph, create a computer-generated image – almost anything that the theme, “WITHIN REACH,” inspires them to think up. Several Bryant submissions will be selected for entry at City level. ALL entries will be displayed in our hallway for Family Art Night. Make sure to help your kids understand the requirements for each category and for packaging their entries.

October is WALKtober

October is Walk to School Month, and we will be celebrating our many Bryant students who make their way to school on foot! Each Friday in October (Oct 6, 20, and 27) we will be hosting “walking bus stops” surrounding Bryant from 7:30-7:40 to gather with friends, have a treat, and walk to school together.

Meeting points:

  • West Station 30th Ave. NE/NE 60th St.
  • South Station 33rd Ave. NE/NE 55th St.
  • North Station 32nd Ave. NE/NE 65th St.
  • East Station 36th Ave. NE/NE 60th St.

Live NW of Bryant? A walking school bus will run through the neighborhood, beginning west of Third Place Books, and make scheduled stops on the way to school. Contact Michele Solis for more details.

Bryant Running Club begins next Friday

Bryant Running Club is open to all students, grades K-5, who are interested in running. Runners will meet with a volunteer coach to stretch, play running games, and run laps at their own pace. We will be meeting on the track and field at the back of the Bryant school playground from 2:25-3:10 p.m. on Fridays from September 22nd to October 27th.  Another session will be offered in the spring semester.  The cost is $5, and covers both fall and spring sessions.

You can download and fill out our Fall 2017 registration form and waiver. Please try to register by Wednesday, September 20th.

Interested in volunteering with the Bryant Running Club? We are looking for volunteers to help sign kids in and out, distribute tokens, and help facilitate activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Jim Stack.
