New Bryant Parent Volunteers

Hello, new Bryant Parents! We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you as a volunteer. There are volunteer opportunities in the classroom, or serve as a field trip chaperone or participate in many exciting PTSA activities. There are a number of ways to volunteer. See volunteer opportunities page for some ideas. Do you have a special talent to share? Contact PTSA Parent Volunteer Coordinators Kathleen Brown and Renee Stanley.

Step 1: Go to: www.seattleschools.org/volunteer to complete requirements and the Seattle Public Schools (SPS) online Volunteer Application and online Day/Overnight Field Trip forms. All SPS volunteer information is on this website. The application process takes about 30 minutes to do. The online application + day/overnight field trip chaperone form is available in multiple languages.

Step 2: Complete the online Adult Sexual Misconduct Prevention course which takes 17 minutes. This video is available in multiple languages. You’ll receive an SPS email course confirmation. Please save this as you’ll need for the online application. If you have any problems watching the Adult Sexual Misconduct Prevention video or obtaining SPS confirmation email, please contact Ann Marie Patterson immediately.

Step 3: Complete the online application. If you plan to chaperone any field trips during the school year, it’s easier to complete the online day/overnight field trip chaperone form now. Be sure to have your valid government-issued photo ID handy. You can upload your ID to the application or provide a copy to the Bryant office. If you are Washington state resident of fewer than 3 years, you will need to complete a fee-based ($21) national background check through SPS vendor.

In addition, please check with Ann Marie Patterson for the following situations:

  • if you have even been a New York resident
  • if you are a citizen of another country in the U.S. temporarily
  • if you have not lived in the U.S. for the past 3 years but are a U.S. citizen.

Step 4: Once your volunteer application is received and approved, volunteers will receive an email confirmation from Volunteer Coordinator, Ann Marie Patterson.
