The Science Fair will be held on Thursday, March 8, 7-8 p.m.
The 25th Annual 5th Grade Bryant Science Fair is coming soon! Please join the 5th grade students and their Scientist Mentors from UW for fascinating science presentations and demonstrations. All Bryant students and families are invited to this celebration of science.
In just a few short weeks we will be kicking off our 5th Grade Science Fair program! We are looking for volunteers to support this longstanding in-class program that links small groups of students with UW scientist mentors to develop and conduct an experiment.
Volunteers are needed for the following roles:
- Photograph experiments and groups
- Providing in-class support for our UW Scientist Mentors
- Collect extra supplies from science fair closet

For many of us, the winter holidays are a time to indulge in good food and sweet treats. However, for many students on free and reduced meal plans, the winter holiday represents a time of food insecurity where they don’t know where their next meal will come from while away from school. With the support of 4th grade families, the Student Hunger Service Project will provide food insecure students in Northeast Seattle with food over the winter break.
The 4th grade food drive runs Monday, November 27 – Monday, December 11th. Collection bins are located in each 4th grade classroom and includes Kearney’s, James’, Salisbury’s, and Benaltabe’s split 4th/5th grade class. All food donations are due by December 13. (If you don’t have time to shop, you can donate money towards the HIP food drive and we’ll do the shopping for you on Thursday, December 14). The packing party where food items are assembled into 100 HIP packs will be Friday, December 15 at 7pm in the lunchroom.

We need cool stuff for our online auction!
Bryant’s online auction will be March 5-12, 2018, as a stand-alone event. The auction committee is gearing up, and we’re starting by asking our Bryant parent community for any awesome items you might be able to donate.
What could you give? Do you know anyone who could give something cool? Here are examples of things we’d love to receive:
- Seahawks, Sounders or Mariners tickets
- Gift cards to local restaurants, bars and pubs
- Vacation rentals
- Unique experiences for kids and/or adults (tour a TV station, create and name a burger at a local cafe, etc.)
- Parent parties (wine tasting, family street party, etc.) The sky’s the limit with this one! Be creative and bring us any/all of your ideas!
- Shopping and retail gift cards
- Movie and theater tickets
The list goes on! We’re asking you to be creative and help us fill the auction with things from our local community – all in support of our amazing school. The deadline for auction item submissions is Feb. 1, 2018.
Ready to donate? Fill out an auction form with your donation and contact information and mail it with the item to the school (or drop it off in the front office).
