Tournament news

First Grader Cooper S. took 1st place in the K-1 section at last weekend’s St. Anne’s tournament. Congrats Cooper!

The scholastic tournament season is still going, with a few more regional events in the coming weeks, including one in nearby Shoreline this upcoming weekend. These would be good opportunities to qualify for the WA State Chess Championships held in Tacoma over Spring Break. Players who scored 3 or more points in any single regional tournament this year are qualified for State (Kindergarteners may qualify with fewer points in some cases), but anyone can play at the I Love Chess Too side-tournament. To look up your student’s qualification status, refer to the qualifiers’ list.
