HELLO AND WELCOME TO BRYANT ELEMENTARY!
We're so glad your family is joining our community. Bryant is a wonderful school, with caring teachers, an active PTSA, and families who look out for one another, and we can't wait to welcome you.
To help you get started, we've pulled together everything a new family needs to know in one place: summer playdates and Kindergarten SPARK, key dates for the first days of school, how school supplies and class assignments work, after-school care, and the many ways to get involved. BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS
SUMMER PLAYDATES
Meet other Bryant families before day one! The PTSA hosts two summer playdates at the Bryant Park Playground (6246 40th Ave NE, across from PCC Market).
Tuesday July 14th, 2026 5:30-6:30pm
Monday August 10th, 2026 3-4pm
BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS
KINDERGARTEN SPARK
SPARK (Start Prepared And Ready for Kindergarten) helps incoming Kindergartners get to know the school, meet teachers, and practice school activities before the year begins. It's a FREE program for all new Bryant K students, held over two mornings in late August. Drop-off and pick-up are on the playground; transportation unavailable.

GETTING SET UP
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
Class assignment notification occurs in late August, typically before grades 1-5 begin school. Your family will receive an email from the teacher.
For Kindergarten families: your child's teacher may ask for some additional information to help them learn about your student and your family.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
The PTSA purchases all the student school supplies in bulk for the school year. These include all items needed for the individual student and community supplies, except backpacks and lunch boxes. Supply fees are collected from families in the fall, and aid is available for Bryant families who need it.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Kick off the school year with us! The Bryant PTSA hosts our annual Ice Cream Social to welcome all Bryant students and families into the new school year. Come meet other families, see familiar faces, and enjoy a scoop (or two) together. More info will be shared via Kid Mail and in your First Day Welcome Packet.

Part of what makes Bryant such a great school is our strong tradition of parent and community support. There's a way in for every interest and schedule, from time in the classroom to one-off events like Field Day and the Bryant Auction, to ongoing roles like sending out the Bryant Weekly.
