Ultimate basics

Ultimate is a co-ed springtime sport, played on a field with end zones like football, but with no contact and a disc (Frisbee) instead of a ball. You run to catch the disc, stop to pass it to your friend, and then catch it in the end zone to score. While adult ultimate has 7 players per team on a soccer-sized field at any time, we play 5-versus-5 on a smaller field to increase learning & fun. The offense gets to choose which 5 coed players are on the teams for the next point: 2 boys and 3 girls, or 2 girls and 3 boys.

What makes Ultimate Frisbee really unique is the code of conduct termed the “spirit of the game” in which the players officiate themselves; there is no referee! More than most sports, ultimate encourages players to be fair and honest, as well as competitive and athletic.
