Has your family fallen on tough financial times? Worried about school expenses such as food over holidays and weekends, school clothes, tickets for school events, afterschool enrichment activities?

The PTSA has a discreet program that offers additional support for Bryant students experiencing financial need.  If you are interested in learning more, fill out a form, and return it to the main office.  Requests are strictly confidential and will be coordinated through the school social worker. Feel free to email Diego Nunez or call the main office (206) 252-5200.

*This assistance helps anyone who self identifies as needing extra assistance regardless of whether they qualify for free or reduced lunch.  The assistance can be short term or long term.

Teacher Appreciation for Bryant’s Sister School

Let’s share with love and show the teachers and staff at our sister school that they are appreciated during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Our sister school is a Title 1 elementary school in the Seattle school district in which more than 80% of students are from low-income families. Just like at Bryant, the teachers and staff at our sister school are working hard year round to provide a safe and fun learning environment for their students. They deserve to be celebrated!

We are collecting snacks for our sister school to put out on May 5th, the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week. We know the Bryant teachers and staff have loved having the break room stocked to keep them fueled up and we think our sister school will love it too.

Donations Requested for Students at our Sister School Over Spring Break

A big thank you for the generosity of donations to buy grocery gift cards for our sister school before Thanksgiving, winter, and mid-winter breaks. It is always HUGELY appreciated!! Let’s do it again for spring break.

Help us meet our goal of purchasing 100 $25 gift cards to be given out before kids are home for a week over mid-winter break without the meals they rely on daily when they are in school.

Bryant PTSA Families in Need program is collecting funds to purchase grocery cards to be donated to our sister school. Our sister school is a Title 1 elementary school in the Seattle public school district in which more than 80% of current students are from low income families. Enrollment has increased 120% since last year so the need is even greater. With the increase in grocery prices and a week off for mid-winter break, families need extra assistance buying food. Please consider supporting local students at our sister school. Your donation will be used to purchase grocery cards. The deadline for this donation drive is 4/9.

While we are currently collecting donations for our sister school, Bryant PTSA funds are budgeted and used to support the Bryant Families In Need program at our school, including grocery gift cards for school breaks. 

If your family is experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship, the Bryant PTSA has a confidential program to assist you. Contact Bryant’s Social Worker, Diego Nunez dinunez@seattleschools.org, to let him know you would benefit from assistance. This program can help with school fees, Bryant spirit wear, Yearbooks, School Picture Fees, food bags on the weekend, financial assistance for school clothes, as well as gift cards to grocery stores during the weeks we are not in school due to scheduled school vacations (Thanksgiving week, Winter break, Mid-winter break, and Spring break).

In the American Rescue Plan, passed in March 2021, Congress extended the Pandemic-EBT program to include the summer months. Through P-EBT, eligible school children receive temporary emergency nutrition benefits loaded on EBT cards that are used to purchase food. The program will provide money on a new or existing EBT card to help fill the summer meals gap left by the inability to access meals during the summer.
