3rd and 4th Grade families, we are counting on YOU!

Have you heard about the Healthy HIP Pack Food Drive and Packing Party? The Bryant Student Hunger Service Project packing party for the 3rd and 4th graders and their families is Tuesday, 5/20 from 6:30-7:30 pm.

We need your help! HIP continues to see a significant increase in demand for Healthy HIP Packs. They are now delivering 400-450 packs per week. The Bryant Student Hunger Service Project aims to provide a hands-on opportunity for our community to learn about and help students facing food insecurity every day in Seattle.

Our goal this year is to make 250 Healthy HIP Packs during the 3rd & 4th grade Packing Party. We can accomplish this goal if every 3rd and 4th grade family donates 20 food items (for example 2 boxes of tuna & cracker combo with 10 packets in each box). Of course, more would be great if you are able!

How can your family help?

Contribute to the food drive: Food Donation Sign-up Genius

(Drop off items in the bin in the main office or by your child’s classroom by 2pm on 5/16. All food donations need to be recorded on the sign-up so we can confirm we have the correct quantities of items.)

1. Review food items that are needed. (This List of Suggested Healthy HIP Pack Food Donations has suggestions)

2. Sign-up for the specific food items and the quantity you will donate in the Sign-up Genius link above.

3. Drop off the food at Bryant by 2pm on Friday 5/16

Come to the packing party at Bryant on Tuesday 5/20 from 6:30-7:30 pm

You can also sign up to help manage one of the stations during the event: Volunteer Station Sign-up Genius

If you aren’t able to purchase food in time but looking for another option to contribute, you can provide a monetary donation which will be used to purchase additional food items to complete the list on the Food Donation Sign-up Genius: Monetary Donation for Food Purchase

Last Call for Bryant Blast Volunteers

Hi Bryant families,

The Bryant Blast is almost here—and we need YOUR help to make the magic happen! This beloved event is 100% volunteer-powered, and right now, we don’t have enough volunteers to keep everything running smoothly.

👉 Here’s the bottom line:
If we don’t fill more volunteer spots soon, some of the games and activities won’t be able to open, which means less fun for the kids.

Every family pitching in for just 30 minutes makes a HUGE difference in creating a fun, safe, and joyful experience for everyone.

🙋 Can you lend a hand? Whether it’s helping with a game booth, selling tickets, or keeping the bounce house line moving – it’s quick, easy, and fun.

Got a 4th or 5th grader? They’re welcome (and encouraged!) to volunteer too! Just sign them up with a parent to co-pilot.

🎂 And don’t forget the Cake Walk! We still need more cakes and cupcakes – homemade or store-bought, all are welcome.

Here’s how you can help:

Thank you for being part of what makes Bryant so special. Let’s keep the Blast magical for every kid, sign up today!

Cheers,
The Bryant Blast Volunteer Team

Teacher Appreciation for Bryant’s Sister School

Let’s share with love and show the teachers and staff at our sister school that they are appreciated during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Our sister school is a Title 1 elementary school in the Seattle school district in which more than 80% of students are from low-income families. Just like at Bryant, the teachers and staff at our sister school are working hard year round to provide a safe and fun learning environment for their students. They deserve to be celebrated!

We are collecting snacks for our sister school to put out on May 5th, the first day of Teacher Appreciation Week. We know the Bryant teachers and staff have loved having the break room stocked to keep them fueled up and we think our sister school will love it too.

To contribute, please make a purchase from this Amazon list and choose “sister school coordinator” for the shipping address.

Thank you for support and generosity!

The Writers’ Celebration – May 22, 2025!

The Writers’ Celebration – May 22, 2025!

The Bryant PTSA is thrilled to present the Writers’ Celebration on Wednesday, May 22—a beloved event that honors the creative voices of all our students.

What is the Writers’ Celebration?
Each student will have the chance to share an original piece of writing—such as a story, poem, or book—with their peers in small, multi-age groups during the school day. This is one of the few opportunities where all grade levels come together, and it’s always a heartwarming scene as older students support and cheer on the younger ones.

Students work hard on their writing and take great pride in presenting their work. It’s truly a celebration of creativity, effort, and community!

Want to help?
We need SPS-approved volunteers to lead a reading group and provide event support!  Sign up here by May 14.  Be sure to indicate if you’d like your child(ren) to be in your group.  Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we won’

Mat Chess – Afterschool Program

Mat Chess is proud to have worked with Bryant Elementary since 2015 to provide a quality after school experience staffed by highly qualified staff at a cost effective price point.
Our program is unique in that we are focused on providing a valuable after school experience rather than just a way to pass time. We provide academic support from experienced educator-led staff, engage students in the game of chess, and learn the physical and mental discipline of an incredible martial art, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
