5th grade families, donations by 4/3 & packing party 4/5!

The HIP Packing Party will be Friday evening 4/5 in the cafeteria from 6:30-7:15pm! Food donations must be dropped off at school by 2pm on Wednesday, 4/3. Collection bins are located in the main office and each 5th grade classroom.

Please sign up to donate food and volunteer to help! We need food donations for specific items and parent volunteers at the packing party. All food drive donations need to be recorded on the Sign-up Genius so we can confirm we have the correct quantities of items to make our goal of 125 healthy HIP packs.

If you aren’t able to purchase and bring food to school but still want to contribute, we have a GivingFuel page so you can donate money which will be used to purchase any remaining items needed.

We need your help! Last year HIP saw a significant increase in demand for Healthy HIP Packs. The Bryant Student Hunger Service Project aims to provide a hands-on opportunity for our community to learn about and help students facing food insecurity every day in Seattle.

Deadline extended! Last call for registering to present at Bryant K-5 Science Night!

Get ready for the 2024 MLK Service Day event

Monday, Jan 15th, 2024 at 10:00am-11:30am.
During the annual MLK Service Day Event, our Bryant community comes together to purchase, sort, and deliver new hygiene, snacks and clothing to the Miller and Meadowbrook Community Centers. These centers provide showers for the homeless and others in need. The following new products are most needed (listed in order of importance)

  • Socks, Gloves, Dental Products, First Aid, Snacks, Travel Soap and Shampoo, Deodorant, Underwear, Thermal Shirts, Nail Clippers, Q-Tips, Personal Wipes, Lotion, Lip Balm (please no sanitizer or mouthwash)

WAYS TO HELP:
1. Purchase bulk items from the registry
https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1H56S23ZR8IBS
Items will be sent to the event coordinator’s home, opened by scouts, and taken to the event at Bryant Elementary. Please ensure delivery on or before Sunday, Jan.14th.
2. Gather items on your own to bring directly to the event. Traveling during the holiday? Consider gathering extra travel shampoo and soaps from your hotel.
3. Attend the event – Families arrive at the outdoor basketball courts at 10am. This year, we are assembling 4 different kits:

  1. snack/nutrition kits
  2. hygiene kits
  3. first aid kits
  4. dental kits

Music will be played, Starbucks coffee will be served, and special treats will be provided by Bryant mom and pâtissier Andrea Westerfield.
